Embodied Sefirot Practices: Gevurah Meditation

Embodied Sefirot Practices: Gevurah Meditation

We’re in the week of Gevurah on the Sefirot embodiment course !

(Gevurah is our Left Lunar-Side and is Fiercely Feminine. Gevurah is our ability to receive & cultivate strength)

Here’s a glimpse of one of our guided meditation practices to cultivate Gevurah, our inner-focus towards self-discovery. The shepherdess of Gevurah is Miriam, who was granted with the miraculous well that nourished the Jewish people wandering in the desert. We invite her energy in and gather strength, focus, & dedication. This meditation is a full body dig- going deeper and descending towards our inner wellsprings of fresh vitality . For some, the water well is in the heart, the womb, or even underneath the feet. This is a process of discovering & uncovering your inner essence.

Miriam’s Well Visualization Practice:

Below is a summary of Gevurah Embodiment Practices, explored more in-depth on the Sefirot Embodiment Course.

  • Miriam’s Well Visualization: Visualizing  a Well within you. From the Crown of your head, imagine digging, descending, & going deeper. Then, Locating and jumping into your POOL of vitality, the wellsprings deep within. Maybe your well is in the heart/ womb/ or beneath your feet. Digging, uncovering, discovering. This is the Gevurah journey to your true self.

  • Become a master of your auric field to generate radical self-love and self-acceptance. Nefesh= 6-feet around you. Visualization: Create a protective circle of light around you. You are sitting in your own, private, energetic space.

  • Element of Gevurah is Fire. Create vitality with Breath of Fire and direct this energy through your body

  • Rub your palms together to create heat. Then, place those hands somewhere in the body that needs attention or deeper work.

  • Closed Circuit meditation- Create a closed circuit with your body so there is no “leaking: energy. Let the breath pump around you without dissipating, going deeper inwards.

  • Contemplate a place that brings you a sense of AWE. Take yourself there in your mind. Feel the sense of grandeur, awe, and fear swell open in you.

  • Visual: Light a candle and focus on the flames. Watch the dance, the colors, and meditate on the element of fire.

  • Breathwork: Right Nostril Breathing (to activate left hemisphere)

  • Breathwork: Inhale (Gevurah) through the left arm, Exhale (Chesed) through the right arm

  • Gesture, move, or open to the Left side of you, the direction of Gevurah.

  • Engage in any Inwards-focused meditation. Glimpsing into your inner world is a practice of Gevurah.

    • Challenge yourself to close your eyes: turning off the gaze heightens your sensations and sensitivities.

    • Keep a journal nearby and write down your inward discoveries as they arise

    • If guided by a teacher, transition to your own practice as a way to listen inwards.
