It’s all the same to me: A Torah Guide To Inner Peace and Love of Life: by Moshe Gersht

This short and sweet book offers the Jewish approach to equanimity: known in Kabbalah as “hishtavus”. He teaches how to live a life of “sameness” , becoming level-headed and balanced through meditation, prayer, and contemplation.

It’s all the same to me:

Breathing & Quieting the Mind by Rav Dovber Pinson

This is our all time favorite Jewish meditation book: and the most practical. With guided practices at the end of each chapter, Rav Pinson brings lofty kabbalistic concepts into practical breath techniques. If you were to start your meditation journey anywhere, this is a great place to begin!

Wisdom to Heal the Earth: 101 Meditations & Teachings of the Rebbe by Tzvi Freeman

This is the perfect coffee-table book to spark up a conversion, or to inspire a thought-provoking contemplation. These pages include short , but potent bites of G-dly love.

Jewish Meditation by Aryeh Kaplan

This is a classic work on the history and philosophy of Jewish Meditation. This read includes step-by-step instruction of Jewish mantra, visualization, and deep contemplation. Rabbi Kaplan touches upon the depth of the integral prayers of the Amidah and the Shema.

Divine Space by Rabbi Yitzhak Ginsburgh

This brilliant book by Rav Gisburgh teaches a specific model of Jewish Meditation: creating a spiritual sanctuary around us through meditations on the 6 constant mitzvot. The 6 meditations also correspond to 6 Sefirot. The emotions of the heart are taught in-depth, along with guided meditations at the end of the book. Our Neshima Shabbat meditation video was inspired by one of his meditations at the end of the book!

Love Like Fire and Water by the Rebbe Rashab, Translation & Commentary by Rabbi David Sterne

This book is a Chabad based approach on Jewish meditation, brought down by the Rebbe Rashab. This is a high level book that explains the levels of the Soul, along with advanced meditations to Love & Fear G-d.

Tehillim, by King David (& others!)

Reciting Tehillim is a natural meditation! These psalms were written by King David. Through his sweet poetry, you can feel King David’s heart pouring out with each word. It’s no wonder the Tzemech Tzedek once said, ““If you only knew the power that lies in the verses of Tehillim and their effect in the celestial heights, you would recite them all the time.”
